Job summary

The Boyd Group Services in Winnipeg, MB seeks a Senior Business Unit Accounting Analyst to provide technical guidance and workflow support for accurate financial reporting and month-end close. You will review reconciliations, analyze variances in gross margin and OPEX, and drive improvements while ensuring internal controls.

You’ll mentor BU accounting staff, collaborate across FP&A and other finance teams, and help implement new workflows to improve efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in Business (preferably Accounting or Finance).
• 4+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with inventory, operational expenses and revenue focus.
• Workday or cloud-based ERP experience preferred.
• Working towards a CPA designation or other certifications.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor BU accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial outputs, including month-end close support and issue escalation.
• Review monthly reconciliations, ensure compliance and high-risk reconciliation support for internal controls.
• Identify process improvements by eliminating redundancies and implementing new workflows.
• Prepare monthly variance analysis for revenue, gross margin and operating expenses, explaining drivers to other teams.
• Monitor and improve business process controls within the BU accounting group.
• Assist the Manager with onboarding and training of staff.
