Job summary

Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting including consolidated statements and MD&A. The role also handles GST, LBI dashboards, and collaboration with external auditors.

The incumbent will lead month-end processes, develop management reports, prepare pension plan statements, and supervise junior staff, with strong IFRS and Excel expertise.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation required and IFRS knowledge essential.
  • Minimum 5 years in accounting with progressive responsibilities.
  • Minimum 2 years in financial system reporting and dashboards.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and database understanding.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports, SQL Server, and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MD&A.
  • Coordinate variance analysis and monthly reporting packages.
  • Develop departmental, division, and corporate financial reports for management.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports including notes and schedules for external release.
  • Prepare annual financial statements of pension plans and consolidate entities.
  • Liaise with external auditors and oversee consolidation activities.
  • Maintain chart of accounts and provide financial system guidance.
  • Develop and run SQL-based financial reports and LBI dashboards.
