Job summary

The Boyd Group is looking for a qualified accounting professional to support inventory, cost of sales, and revenue accounting at the business unit level. You will analyze Workday reports, prepare accruals, and assist with closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in accounting/finance, CPA or in progress, and have 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • CPA or working towards CPA or other certifications is preferred.
  • Experience in accounting and financial reporting within a corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare business unit level accounting related to cost and revenue drivers.
  • Inventory accounting: value inventory and assess adjustments; provide commentary from Workday data.
  • Cost of Sales: support service costs and allocations; review WIP and cost of sales in Workday; perform accruals and variance analysis.

You control your future.Job Description:Prepare the business unit level accounting relating to the cost and revenue drivers of the business to provide insights into the operational effectiveness of the companyKey Job ResponsibilitiesInventory AccountingDetermine the value of inventory and assess the need for adjustments based on estimatesProvide commentary and guidance by analyzing Inventory reporting prepared in WorkdayCommunicate analysis with key stakeholders and recommend adjustments where applicableCost of Sales AccountingSupporting operations to determine the service costs and allocations (i.e. overhead)Reviewing and approving the WIP and cost of sales calculations posted in WorkdayPerform accrual calculations by using reporting generated for parts and labor accrualsReview and reconcile the data presented in standardized reports and provide commentary and guidance related to the variance analysis to key stakeholdersProvide support to resolve subsequent inquiries relating to report understandingRevenue AccountingReviewing receivables and analyzing application of revenue recognition policiesIdentify issues relating to the timing of closing of receivablesReview revenue transactions posted near period end to mitigate risk of cut-off errorsAdditionalProvide general close support / accrualsGeneral ledger reconciliationsEducation and/or Experience RequiredUndergraduate degree in Business (preferably Accounting or Finance) with 2+ years of experience in accounting & financial functionsRelevant Certifications: CPA or others and/or working towards completionRequired Skills/AbilitiesAbility to multi-task and manage a workload with competing deadlines and prioritiesCritical thinking skillsAccurate, organized and attention to detailsConfidence and assertiveness to enforce the financial guidelines while still maintain rapportStrong professional communication and interpersonal skills to work with all types and levels of people inside and external to the organizationAdvance computer skills (Excel, Word) in order to create all spreadsheets, formulas and linking; create own confidential correspondenceSpecialized knowledge in auto body work, retail, and/or mergers and acquisitions would be an assetAbility to deal with confidential information that may not be shared inside and outside the organization.Passion to provide excellent customer serviceOther RequirementsAbility to sit for long periods of timeProlonged use of computer Please note, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
