Qualifications

  • At least 3 years experience in a Senior Business Systems Analyst role.
  • Strong expertise in Data Profiling and Data Mapping.
  • Knowledge of AML or/and regulatory frameworks is advantageous.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s EAML Technology, Big Data Business Systems Analysis team. You’ll lead complex projects to design strategic solutions aligned to CIBC’s enterprise architecture roadmap. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you’ll support end-to-end project implementation and act as a subject matter expert in both business and technology. You’ll ideate and collaborate with a diverse team to create and set up flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience. You’ll also take ownership of developing comprehensive Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents and performing advanced data profiling to ensure data quality and alignment with business objectives. By leveraging your deep understanding of data structures and relationships, you’ll bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, driving impactful and scalable solutions.

How you'll succeed

  • Understanding and documenting requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complicated business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Leading and mentoring – Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
  • Develop comprehensive Source-To-Target Mapping (STTM) documents - Lead the creation of detailed and accurate STTM documents by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data architects, and developers. Ensure mappings align with business requirements, technical specifications, and data governance standards.
  • Perform advanced data profiling - Utilize tools and techniques to deeply analyze and profile source data, identifying patterns, anomalies, and data quality issues. Provide actionable insights to support informed decision-making and ensure seamless data integration.
  • Demonstrate deep data understanding - Act as a subject matter expert on data structures, relationships, and flows across systems. Leverage your expertise to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring data solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency - Validate and verify data mappings and transformations to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives. Proactively address discrepancies and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.

Who you are

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field, and you’ve spent at least 3 years in a Senior BSA role leading projects and designing solutions. You have good exposure to Data Profiling and Data Mapping. You have good knowledge on AML or/and regulatory framework. It’s an asset if you have experience with Agile methodologies, and Application and/or Architecture Development.
