About the role
Reporting directly to the President and CEO of AIG Canada, the Senior Business Manager is a key leadership team member responsible for driving profitable growth by implementing and evaluating business strategies across regions. This role requires a strong understanding of business drivers and the competitive landscape, with the authority to measure performance and support portfolio management using insights from data analysis—covering exposure, claims, operational, and financial data, as well as third-party sources. The goal is to develop and execute growth and profitability strategies through underwriting excellence and market leadership.
The ideal candidate will combine excellent communication, analytical, project management, and influencing skills with strong business acumen, decision-making capabilities, and a data-driven approach to identify opportunities for improvement. This person will act as a liaison on behalf of the President & CEO Canada, fostering collaboration and integration across Canada and North America to achieve One AIG objectives.
The role will have a Business Analyst reporting directly to the Senior Business Manager.
How you will create an impact
Engage with business and functional leaders to articulate a shared vision and support strategic initiatives that deliver market-leading performance. Take a portfolio view to identify risks and opportunities, ensuring value delivery to clients and broker partners. Facilitate alignment across departments and support communication of strategy. Enhance portfolio management tools and application for optimal distribution and capital allocation. Stay informed on market trends and assist in external presentations. Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning processes.
Assist the President & CEO in tracking strategic initiatives, coordinating planning with Finance and LOB strategy owners, defining KPIs, and measuring progress. Participate in business reviews, ensuring strategic initiatives are tracked and executed effectively.
Oversee regular performance reporting with FP&A, ensuring data accuracy and relevance. Collaborate with the Global Data Office to ensure data accessibility and actionable insights. Promote continuous improvement in data quality and reporting to inform business decisions.
