Job summary

Optisigma Inc. seeks a senior Business Analyst to map end-to-end processes, capture needs, and translate them into structured specifications and user stories. You will define data elements, maintain data dictionaries, and document interfaces to support enterprise transformations.

You will assess feasibility, build traceability, and contribute to gap analyses while supporting validation and knowledge transfer. Hybrid: two days on site in the Ottawa region, telework the rest.

Qualifications

• Hold at least one BA certification: CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA or BCS BA Practice.
• 10+ years as BA/BS Analyst on enterprise transformation in last 15 years.
• 5+ years in each area: process modelling, data analysis, interface & integration analysis, requirements elicitation & documentation, traceability.
• Fluent professional English (spoken & written).
• 3+ years developing data-related BA artefacts including data modelling.
• More than one BA certification.

Job description

• Map end-to-end business processes in their current and target states, including decision points, hand-offs, business rules and automation opportunities;
• Run workshops and interviews with stakeholders to capture business and functional needs, then turn them into structured specifications (SRS/FRD) and user stories;
• Define data elements, sources, usage and ownership, and keep data dictionaries and inventories up to date;
• Document system and process interfaces, data exchanges and integration dependencies, whether manual or automated;
• Assess incoming business requests for feasibility, impact and urgency, and frame clear problem statements, assumptions and constraints;
• Build and maintain traceability links between requirements, business objectives, processes and solution components;
• Contribute to gap analyses between current and target states, including technical debt and legacy functionality;
• Support validation and acceptance testing, and prepare knowledge transfer material for internal teams.

You have the following profile:

• Hold at least one of the following business analysis certifications: CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA or BCS Certificate in Business Analysis Practice (copy of certificate required);
• At least 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst on enterprise-level business transformation, within the last 15 years;
• At least 5 years, within the last 10 years, in each of the following areas: end-to-end business process modelling (As-Is/To-Be, business rules); data and information analysis (data dictionaries or inventories); interface and integration analysis; requirements elicitation and documentation, including acceptance criteria; requirements traceability; intake, triage and feasibility assessment of business requests;
• Communicate fluently in professional English, both orally and in writing (advanced level);
• At least 3 years developing data-related business analysis artefacts, including conceptual or logical data modelling (asset);
• More than one of the business analysis certifications listed above (asset);
