Job summary

Canada Life's System Solutions team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with health and dental project experience and a passion for continuous improvement. This pivotal role collaborates with Group Technology and Workplace Benefits to transform operations.

You will create project documentation, identify improvements, facilitate workshops, document business needs, and ensure solutions meet business requirements.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or comparable role
  • Post-secondary education in business or a related field
  • Solution focused with problem-solving enthusiasm
  • Strong verbal and written communication, audience-tailored
  • Knowledge of health & dental claims and group insurance systems is an asset
  • Experience with Word, Excel and Visio
  • Security clearance requirement if offered employment

The System Solutions team is looking for an experienced, and passionate Senior Business Analyst with experience in business analysis for health & dental projects as well as continuous improvement opportunities. The position is an exciting role that is pivotal in achieving our vision to become the best provider of health and dental solutions.

The Senior Business Analyst works on projects with many different teams including our Group Technology partners and various other departments within Workplace Benefits & Retirement to transform our operations. This position is suited to an individual who enjoys working in an environment to solve complex problems, meet challenging deadlines, drive problems to conclusion and has the desire to become a business and technical expert in the organization.

What you will do
  • Actively participate in the creation of project documentation including business cases, decision requests, cost benefit analysis etc. as required to determine prioritization of projects and solutions.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities, find efficiencies and implementation strategy.
  • Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement by facilitating workshops and interviews to identify and document business needs.
  • Collaborate with technology stakeholders to ensure understanding of the business requirements, use cases and business designs, and obtain sign off to ensure solution delivery is appropriate and meets the needs of the business.
  • Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise around our Health and Dental Systems
  • Create and evaluate test plans and outcomes (results, defects, etc.)
  • Present recommendations to leaders in the organization.
  • Support Learning and Development with the development of internal training material.
What you will bring
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or comparable role would be an asset
  • Post-secondary education in business or a similar/related field
  • Solution focused – enjoys the challenge of problem solving
  • An enthusiastic team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, experience, and ideas, and is open to the ideas and input of others
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor communication style to the audience.
  • A continuous development mindset and commitment to self development.
  • Knowledge of Group Health & Dental claims, and Group Insurance systems is an asset
  • Effective time management skills; able to work independently and manage multiple deadlines/projects
  • Experience in applying skills using Word, Excel and Visio software.
  • Candidates who are in the process of developing these skills and have not yet reached the Senior Business Analyst level may also be considered
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by theGovernment of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $56,900 - $94,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
