Senior Bridge Design Engineer – Calgary

Job summary

EXP is seeking a hands-on Bridge Design Engineer to join our Calgary team, delivering bridge and transportation structures across Western Canada. You will work with our Bridge Engineering Lead and a multidisciplinary team on design from field investigations through tendering and construction support.

The ideal candidate has 7–12 years of experience in bridge projects, a Civil/Structural engineering degree, and P.Eng with APEGA. Proficiency with MIDAS, CSiBridge and SAP2000 is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree is an asset.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Approximately 7 to 12 years of progressively responsible bridge or transportation-structures experience.
• Demonstrated experience completing structural analysis and detailed design for bridge or transportation structure assignments.
• Proficiency with bridge-analysis software such as MIDAS, CSiBridge, SAP2000 or comparable tools.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, communication, coordination and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete structural analysis and design for bridge projects.
• Prepare calculations, reports and tender documents.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and manage defined scope, schedule and budget.
• Support field investigations and condition assessments.
• Attend design meetings, reviews and constructability discussions.
• Manage assigned work packages from design through tender and construction support.
