Job summary

EXP in Calgary is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineering Lead to expand its Western Canadian practice. You will lead bridge assignments, mentor junior staff, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across projects, from planning through construction support.

The role requires a PE, 15+ years of bridge experience, and strong proficiency with MIDAS, CSiBridge, and SAP2000. Based in Calgary, you will engage with clients and drive technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible bridge and structural engineering experience.
• Experience in bridge analysis, design, rehabilitation, assessment, tender preparation, and construction support.
• Strong knowledge of CSA S6 and applicable Canadian bridge design standards.
• Proficiency with MIDAS, CSiBridge, SAP2000.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge and transportation structure assignments through planning, design, tendering and construction support.
• Provide senior technical leadership and quality control reviews for bridge design and tender deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers, EITs, technicians, and designers, and support workload planning.
• Advance internal standards, tools, and best practices for bridge design and construction.
• Build and maintain relationships with provincial, municipal, contractor, and transportation clients.
• Represent EXP in client meetings, technical presentations and industry activities.
