Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage the full cycle of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions related to our diverse product offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online. The Senior Bookkeeper will work closely with operations to support budgeting and financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform full-cycle bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online (QBO)
2. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
3. Prepare and reconcile bank and credit card accounts
4. Process payroll and ensure accurate remittance submissions
5. Prepare adjusting journal entries as required
6. Maintain accurate records and assist in the preparation of financial reports
7. Collaborate with inventory and sales teams to ensure alignment between financial records and product inventory
8. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
9. Assist in inventory count
10. Respond to vendor and customer inquiries promptly and professionally
11. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Strong understanding of Canadian accounting and payroll principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with the food retail industry is an asset
