Job summary
Export Development Canada (EDC) is seeking a Sr Reporting Analyst to assess, rationalize, redesign, and rebuild Cognos reporting assets on the Power BI platform. You will work with business users, data teams, and owners to map data, validate logic, and deliver scalable reports and semantic models that meet governance and performance standards.
This contract role focuses on migrating legacy Cognos reports to Power BI/Fabric, with emphasis on data accuracy and user acceptance testing.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in BI, reporting, analytics, including large-scale reporting in Cognos, Tableau, Power BI or similar.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, data warehouses, or data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and migrate Cognos reports to Power BI; document data sources, mappings, and business rules.
- Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models per governance standards.
- Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams to ensure secure, performant reports.
