Job summary
Export Development Canada (EDC) is seeking a Sr Reporting Analyst to lead the migration of legacy Cognos reports to the Power BI platform. You will partner with business users, data teams and technology partners to design reports and semantic models that meet governance, performance and usability standards.
This contract role requires 7+ years in BI, strong SQL, Cognos-to-Power BI experience, and the ability to document data mappings and support testing and deployment across hybrid work
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in BI, reporting, or analytics in enterprise analytics platforms.
- Experience migrating Cognos reports to Power BI.
- Strong SQL skills with relational databases.
- Ability to gather requirements, document business logic and communicate findings.
- Bilingual in English and French.
Responsibilities
- Assess, rationalize, redesign Cognos reports for migration to Power BI.
- Document data sources, field mappings, report layouts and rules.
- Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Transform data using SQL, Power Query, DAX with traceability from legacy to Power BI.
- Support UAT, reconcile Cognos vs Power BI results, and document outcomes.
- Collaborate with data engineering, governance and platform teams.
- Prepare documentation and knowledge transfer materials for support.
- Assist in migration planning, backlog refinement and deployment.
