Job summary

Export Development Canada (EDC) is seeking a Sr Reporting Analyst to migrate Cognos reporting assets to Power BI and build scalable BI solutions. The role collaborates with business users, data teams, and platform partners to ensure governance, performance, and usability in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in BI, strong SQL, and experience with Cognos and Power BI. This is a contract position based in Ottawa with options for remote hubs across major Canadian cities.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, analytics.
Experience migrating Cognos reports to Power BI.
Experience with SQL, Power Query, DAX and data warehouses.

Responsibilities

Assess, rationalize, redesign Cognos assets for Power BI.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements.
Document data mappings, business rules, and report logic.
Build Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
Support testing, validate results, and reconcile Cognos vs Power BI.
Ensure security, performance, and maintainability of reports.
