Job summary

BGIS in Halifax, NS is seeking an experienced BAS Estimator to serve our expanding Canadian client base. You will apply estimating skills to Building Automation projects while collaborating with the team to deliver superior proposals.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of estimating BAS, with preference for Tridium Niagara experience and knowledge of M&E engineering, high voltage systems, HVAC and related control systems. Some travel to site locations is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of estimating Building Automation Systems.
• Preference for experience estimating using Tridium Niagara products.
• Knowledge of M&E engineering, high voltage systems, HVAC and related control systems.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical and electrical drawings to determine scope of work.
• Analyze engineering design drawings to evaluate control systems.
• Assemble detailed take-offs and cost estimates.
• Prepare proposals and project quotations.
• Understand contractual terms and obligations.
• Meet deadlines and work under pressure while maintaining quality.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and engineers/consultants.
• Travel to project site locations as required.
