Job summary

HTS Controls Group in Ottawa is seeking a BAS Technician to develop, design and deliver building automation systems for various controls projects. You will work under the Controls Manager and coordinate with site trades, ensuring proper operation and commissioning from sensors to management level.

The ideal candidate has a controls systems degree or equivalent and 8 years of field HVAC/BAS experience. Familiarity with Tridium Niagara is a plus; valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Controls Systems degree or equivalent education.
• 8 years' experience in field with HVAC and BAS systems.
• Tridum Niagara knowledge/skills is an asset.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Independent, self-learner and high desire for high quality products and systems.
• Must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Produces HVAC DDC from engineered shop drawings and project specifications.
• Validates complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
• Completes the setup, detailed commissioning, and system diagnostics of the BAS from management level to the sensor/actuator level.
• Troubleshoots low voltage electrical, communication wiring, hardware installation and configuration, DDC programming and general system performance issues.
• Coordinates work with other jobsite trades while keeping Project Manager informed of job progress and issues.
• Participates in project meetings (internal and site) as required.
• Contributes to continual improvement initiatives.
• Adheres to HTS and jobsite safety standards and procedures.
• Job would be performed both indoors and outdoors on construction sites in a variety of environmental conditions.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Salary: $40-$60 per hour
