Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build scalable services in .NET 8/C#, Python with FastAPI and data tooling. You will help decompose a Rails monolith into microservices, define API contracts, and optimize data flows across billing, dispatch, and reporting modules.

You’ll own high-load MySQL schemas, orchestrate Docker/Kubernetes deployments on GKE, and collaborate with Rails, DevOps, and QA to push robust architectures forward.

Qualifications

• Production experience with .NET 8 / C# and Python
• Strong MySQL query design and optimization for high-load workloads
• Experience with at least one of PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, BigQuery
• Experience with RabbitMQ or similar brokers and async queues
• Designing and implementing microservices with clear API boundaries
• Redis for caching and session management, Git/GitFlow with Bitbucket

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services in .NET 8/C# and Python
• Design microservice boundaries, API contracts, and data flows
• Work on core platform systems (GPS ingestion, history, reporting, billing)
• Write production-grade, test-driven code and conduct reviews
• Design and optimize MySQL schemas for high-volume data
• Build and consume RESTful APIs; implement webhooks and events
• Deploy to production via Docker, Kubernetes, and Bitbucket Pipelines
• Create architecture diagrams and ADRs in Confluence
• Manage async jobs with RabbitMQ and Dramatiq/Delayd Job tools
• Operate on Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud SQL, BigQuery)
