Job summary

Elastify, a Toronto-based private equity firm, is expanding its engineering team and seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to build scalable backend services for in-house SaaS platforms and analytics tools. You will design APIs and data flows with Product, Frontend, and Backend teams, translating business and financial requirements into clean, reliable services.

Bring 1–5 years of backend experience, strong Python skills, and solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and RESTful APIs.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience building production-grade software applications, ideally backend.
• Strong Python and object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience with microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and clean code.
• Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and microservices for in-house SaaS platforms and analytics tools.
• Develop scalable backend applications using Python and modern software engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and Backend Engineering to design APIs and data flows.
• Translate complex business requirements into clean, maintainable backend services.
• Contribute to architecture and development of new products in a fast-paced environment.
• Integrate APIs, data services, and AI-driven capabilities into production applications.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve backend systems for performance and reliability.
• Gain exposure to cloud, AI, and full-stack development practices.
