Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting backend systems in production.
• Proficiency in at least one major language (Java, Go, or Python) and ability to learn others as needed.
• Experience with or design of large-scale backend services, microservices, data pipelines, or high-throughput APIs.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating services on public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, storage systems, and scalability considerations.
• Strong focus on quality, reliability, testing, observability, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services that are secure, reliable, and scalable in a cloud-native environment.
• Own features end-to-end from requirements to rollout and ongoing improvements.
• Work with microservices, focusing on performance, resiliency, and clear API contracts.
• Contribute to service reliability and operations, including monitoring, alerting, and on-call participation where applicable.
• Collaborate with partner teams on architecture, data modeling, and integration across platform.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to raise the bar for the team.
• Help improve engineering practices, tools, and automation for safer code shipping.
• Contribute to a healthy team culture through clear communication and inclusive collaboration.
