Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Staff Cost Engineer to own cost governance across its multi-cloud and multi-AI tool footprint. You’ll design tooling, automation, and processes to scale cost visibility, anomaly detection, and budgeting across AWS resources and data infrastructure.

You’ll lead cost strategy with infra and platform leaders, turn spend questions into durable systems, and influence a high-leverage cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Strong track record with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with FinOps or cost-visibility platforms and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a yearly horizon.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics across the lifecycle.
• Define and advocate for scalable, self-service tooling and cost visibility.
