Job summary

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead business analysis activities for Payments Modernization initiatives involving RTP, FedNow, RTR, Lynx, ACH, EFT, Interac, and other real-time payment solutions.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Operations, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, Fraud, and vendor teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions to understand business needs and define solution requirements.
• Prepare and maintain BRDs, FRDs, process flows, business rules, use cases, data mappings, and other business analysis deliverables.
• Create and manage Jira Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria using Agile, Scrum, and BDD/Gherkin methodologies.
• Conduct current-state and future-state assessments, process mapping, gap analysis, and impact analysis to support transformation initiatives.
• Document end-to-end payment processes including initiation, validation, routing, settlement, reconciliation, returns, investigations, exceptions, and reporting.
• Analyze and document ISO 20022 payment message requirements, data mappings, and integration specifications.
• Work with Solution Architects and development teams to define API, payment hub, core banking, and third-party vendor integration requirements.
• Support implementation of real-time payment capabilities and payment modernization programs across retail, commercial, and treasury banking platforms.
• Collaborate with Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, Cash Management, and Payment Operations teams to define business capabilities and operational requirements.
• Translate regulatory and compliance requirements from Payments Canada, FINTRAC, OSFI, AML, KYC, sanctions, and privacy regulations into business requirements and controls.
• Define and document fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, customer due diligence, and operational risk management requirements.
• Ensure payment solutions comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, audit standards, and governance frameworks.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability between business requirements, regulatory obligations, solution design, testing, and implementation deliverables.
• Support middle-office and back-office payment operations by documenting settlement, reconciliation, exception handling, investigations, and operational support processes.
• Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, story grooming, prioritization, and stakeholder review sessions.
• Partner with QA, SIT, and UAT teams to develop test scenarios, validate requirements, support defect resolution, and ensure successful testing outcomes.
• Analyze payment data, transaction flows, and operational metrics to identify process improvements, efficiencies, and risk mitigation opportunities.
• Manage project risks, assumptions, dependencies, and issues while coordinating activities across multiple business and technology teams.
• Support vendor onboarding, payment platform implementations, payment hub migrations, and strategic transformation initiatives.
• Participate in production readiness reviews, operational readiness assessments, go-live planning, and post-implementation support activities.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, information security, data governance, and operational resilience standards.
• Act as the primary liaison between business and technology teams, providing ongoing requirements clarification and solution support.
• Drive continuous improvement of business analysis practices, documentation standards, Agile delivery processes, and payment operations capabilities.
