Senior Azure Platform Engineer — Cloud & Automation

Job summary

HCLTech seeks an experienced Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud & Platform Engineering team. You’ll design, build, and operate the enterprise Azure platform and shared services used by product and delivery teams across assessment delivery, exam development, and Certiport lines.

You will implement IaC, automation, and governance to improve security, reliability, and developer experience, and participate in on-call rotations supporting critical cloud services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architecture.
• 3+ years building Infrastructure as Code, with strong Terraform experience.
• Strong experience automating infrastructure with Ansible and scripting in Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and Helm.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions).
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and governance.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating system configuration, automation, and management
• Experience with patch orchestration and vulnerability remediation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate shared cloud platform services on Microsoft Azure for provisioning, deployment, and day-to-day operations.
• Develop reusable platform capabilities, modules, templates, and pipelines for secure, self-service cloud adoption.
• Design and manage enterprise cloud networking and connectivity (hub-and-spoke, firewalls, DNS, VPN, peering).
• Build and operate AKS clusters and Helm-based delivery for shared workloads.
• Provision and manage Azure PaaS and data services with private connectivity.
• Maintain security tooling and guardrails, including Key Vault and certificate management.
• Operate and support cloud platform services, participate in on-call rotation, and drive reliability.
