itec group in Cambridge, ON is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Specialist to join our growing engineering team supporting industrial automation and advanced manufacturing projects.

You will lead automation initiatives, troubleshoot complex control systems, and drive equipment performance and reliability improvements across projects from concept through commissioning. The role requires hands-on expertise and strong leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of industrial automation or controls engineering experience.
• Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms.
• Experience with HMI, SCADA, VFDs, and industrial communication networks.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Lead automation projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, controls, and automation issues.
• Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and system integration.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Develop and maintain automation documentation, programming standards, and electrical schematics.

This role offers the opportunity to lead automation initiatives, troubleshoot complex control systems, and drive equipment performance and reliability improvements.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Develop, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Lead automation projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, controls, and automation issues.
• Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and system integration.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.

Mandatory Requirements:

• 7+ years of industrial automation or controls engineering experience.
• Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms.
• Experience with HMI, SCADA, VFDs, and industrial communication networks.
• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and commission automated equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems and industrial automation principles.

Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000
