Job summary
Jobtailor in Brampton, Canada, seeks a senior automation engineer to design and develop automation and control solutions for battery energy storage systems and microgrid applications. The engineer will configure and validate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and site controllers, support PCS/BMS integrations, and lead validation activities from factory to field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, power systems, renewable energy, microgrids, or energy storage.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, industrial communications, and SCADA systems.
- Experience with Modbus, CAN, IEC 61850, DNP3, or other utilities/industrial protocols.
- Experience with HIL simulation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within North America and internationally.
