As part of one of Canada's leading accounting firms, you will mentor junior staff, contribute to business development, and collaborate with clients across diverse industries. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• CPA designation.
• 4 to 5 years of relevant public accounting experience.
• Extensive knowledge ASPE, GAAP, SEC and IFRS.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software.
• Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files simultaneously.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset acquisitions and payroll walkthroughs.
• Summarize clients’ financial status by preparing balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Assess and assure audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets and prepaids.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and prepare posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings.
• Develop relationships with clients and mentor junior team members.
• Participate in business development initiatives and identify new opportunities.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
