Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton in Toronto, ON is seeking a Senior Associate, Transactions to support buy-side and sell-side due diligence and related advisory work across manufacturing, distribution, tech and services sectors.

You will lead data analysis, build Excel-based databooks, and contribute to engagement letters and client communications while collaborating with a wide TAS team to deliver high-quality financial insights.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or close to achieving one (hours in assurance & tax)
• 2-3 years’ experience with financial statement analysis and financial modelling
• Undergraduate degree in business with a concentration in finance or accounting
• Proven high academic achievement
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling
• Detail oriented with large data sets and reconciliations
• Strong business acumen
• Strong business writing and communication skills
• Experience with accounting software and data analytic tools a plus
• Ability to work independently and in a larger team
• Ability to network and engage with management

Responsibilities

• Execute buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for diverse buyers
• Prepare Excel-based Analysis Packs (Databooks) including data and reconciliations
• Undertake data analytics using Tableau and other tools to quantify metrics
• Participate in client meetings and site visits to gather financial insights
• Write financial due diligence reports for clients and lenders
• Communicate proactively with deal team members and manage tasks
• Involvement in engagement letters and presentations for prospective clients
