Job summary

Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning in Vancouver seeks a driven Senior Architectural Technologist to join the team. You will work closely with Project Managers to produce detailed documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of drawing packages, and mentor junior staff through design and production challenges.

Responsibilities include leading DD/CD documentation, coordinating consultant work, managing tender processes, and ensuring code compliance while overseeing project budgets

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years local experience as an architectural technologist.
  • Advanced Revit proficiency with model management and documentation workflows.
  • Familiarity with tendering phase requirements and bid processes.
  • Strong eye for detailing, constructability and code compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cartoon sets and production plans; oversee production management and reporting functions.
  • Lead, develop, prepare, and review Design Development Drawings (DD) and outline specifications.
  • Lead, develop, prepare, and review Contract Documents (CD) and specifications.
  • Ensure coordination of consultant documentation with project criteria, client program, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform Contract Administration (CA) duties in collaboration with the Contract Administrator.
  • Direct the preparation of tender documents.
  • Direct the research and compilation of construction materials.
  • Direct the assembly, circulation, and filing of project documents.
  • Chair production meetings.
  • Perform code and bylaw analysis.
  • Perform Quality Control procedures.
  • Coordinate with and review the work of consultants.
  • Collaborate with authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Actively manage project fee budgets and costs to ensure project profitability and prepare reports as required; draft fee agreements and contracts.
  • Approve and control all time spent on projects, expenses, and consultant invoices.
  • Provide mentorship guidance and direction to other Production Team Members.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Architectural Technologist to join our Vancouver team. Our office is involved in a broad and dynamic range of projects, including commercial, mixed-use, retail, industrial, hospitality, public, and healthcare developments. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers to produce detailed documentation that brings designs from concept to completion. You’ll ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of drawing packages through coordination with team members and consultants. In addition, you’ll provide mentorship to junior staff and help troubleshoot complex design and production challenges.

Salary starts at $90,000+ per annum, based on a 40-hour work week. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, and skill set.
