Job summary

Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning in Langley seeks a Project Architect to lead design and technical development on wood-frame multi-family projects. You will guide the project team, coordinate with consultants, and ensure documentation meets client and code requirements. Qualifications include a B.

Arch or M. Arch, 10+ years of architectural experience with at least 5 years in wood-frame multi-family, registration is a strong asset, and proficiency in Revit.

  • 10+ years of architectural experience with 5+ years in wood-frame multi-family projects.
  • Registration with a provincial regulatory board is a strong asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead design teams and manage projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and technical development for projects in the Langley office.
  • Develop project criteria, scope of services, work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Present design concepts and materials to clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, structural consultants and site teams.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure on-time delivery of documentation.
  • Conduct site reviews and construction administration.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Project Architect to complement our Langley office. You will provide design leadership on various projects and assist as a technical expert on specialized design and act as a design resource for specific components of projects. You will assist in the education and development of design staff. Woodframe Multi-Family Projects experience is essential.

Here's what you’ll be doing at Kasian:
  • Work with talented architects and technologists to produce quality projects for private sector clients
  • Develop project criteria, the scope of services, detailed work plans, drawing lists, schedules, and resource (staff, technical, and budget) requirements over the project lifecycle
  • Push the boundaries of design while meeting the needs of clients and end-users; participate in stakeholder meetings, create design concepts and presentation material
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the project team to produce successful design and construction documentation
  • Coordinate with project consultants (ie. electrical, mechanical, structural)
  • Resolve complex design and technical issues
  • Manage client relationships and actively develop these throughout the project process
  • Ensure projects are delivered effectively through efficient resource management and by achieving scheduled milestones
  • Undertake site reviews and construction administration
Here’s what you bring to Kasian:
  • B. Arch or M. Arch from an accredited architectural program, coupled with a minimum of 10+ years of architectural experience; 5 years minimum in wood-frame multi-family projects.
  • Registration with a provincial regulatory board is a strong asset
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • An innovative and forward-thinking approach to design and a natural curiosity for staying current with new trends, materials, and construction methods
  • Strong technical knowledge and technical drawing experience in Revit
  • Excellent graphic communication and presentation skills
  • An ability to add value to all stages of project delivery

Salary starts at $100,000+ per annum, based on a 40-hour work week. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, and skill set.
