Job summary

NORR is seeking an experienced architect to lead multi-disciplinary design work on public sector projects in Canada. The role emphasizes quality, timely delivery, and code compliance. We value flexible work arrangements and collaboration across offices and teams.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years of project experience, strong software skills (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop), and familiarity with building systems and codes. Security clearance ability is required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education completed.
• Experience in all phases of the project cycle required.
• Proficiency in architectural design software (Revit/AutoCAD/SketchUp/PhotoShop).
• Familiarity with MEP/structural systems and building codes.
• Professional registration is an asset; ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Compile information from reports to understand broad project requirements.
• Develop architectural designs that meet quality, timeline, and budget.
• Coordinate design intent with other disciplines.
• Integrate engineering requirements, site surveys and field reviews.
• Prepare design reports, drawings and models following office standards.
• Perform site visits to verify construction document compliance and resolve deviations.

You Will Make an Impact by

• Compiling information from reports and published documents; evaluating and analyzing the information to understand broad requirements of project
• Developing architectural designs, to ensure an exemplary solution is delivered that meets quality parameters, project timelines and budgetary requirements
• Coordinating design intent with other disciplines
• Integrating engineering requirements, site surveys and field review information, adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
• Preparing design reports, drawings and models following office standards
• Performing site visitations to determine compliance with construction documents; identifying any deviations and liaises with owner and contactor to resolve issues in a timely manner
• Reviewing project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls

You will Bring to the Team

• Successfully completed related post-secondary education
• Experience in all phases of the project cycle is required
• Architectural design software skills including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and other architectural design software
• Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes is required
• Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset
• Ability to obtain secret security clearance is required
• 15+ years of project work experience
• Experience in Public projects is an asset

The hiring base salary range for this vacant position is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, internal equity and skills.
