Role description:

We are looking for an experienced Architect to join our team working in support of current and future major infrastructure, transit and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment where cooperation, attention to detail and good communication skills lead to proper execution of project design work.

Role accountabilities:

Most of the Things You’ll Work On:

• Creates and assists with the creation of designs from concept through to construction, working with the Project Manager and Project Engineers
• Establishes the design framework of projects
• Coordinates architectural and project design
• Manages architectural designers and CAD staff assigned to the project, to successful completion of submissions meeting budget and schedule
• Coordinates and manages fee budget and schedule on architectural work
• Functions as the project leader and primary coordinator between multiple disciplines
• Applies knowledge of building codes and understanding of design philosophy of projects
• Prepares and coordinates detailed design and construction documents
• Resolves complex technical and design issues within the project scope and escalate all others to ensure project objectives are met
• Conducts on-site observations and documents site reviews
• Reviews submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI's and project changes
• Participates in business development, providing input to proposals

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

• Minimum of 8 years experience as a licensed Architect with OAA, designing and leading infrastructure, transit or other complex projects.
• Familiarity with software such as Revit, AutoCAD and Microstation are an asset.
• Experienced with MS Office, MS Sharepoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Note: this is not a position for a conceptual/design architect - the successful candidate will have the required technical knowledge to direct CAD designers in all technical and constructability aspects of construction documentation and detailing.

The salary range for this position is CAD$78,000 - CAD$117,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
