Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Northern Ontario is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to lead archaeological assessments while respecting the cultural landscapes of communities. The role involves project management, mentorship of staff, and compliance with regulations. Ideal candidates have over 10 years of experience in consulting archaeology. This position offers a chance to contribute to sustainable development and heritage stewardship in Northern Ontario.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of consulting archaeology experience, including 5+ years leading projects in northern Ontario.
• Proven ability to independently manage large and complex archaeological projects under deadline-driven conditions.
• Advanced knowledge of historical and/or Indigenous material culture specific to northern Ontario would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead archaeological assessments in accordance with MCM Standards and Guidelines.
• Manage end-to-end archaeological projects including budgeting and scheduling.
• Engage with Indigenous Nations and communities respectfully.
