The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience and expertise in conducting fieldwork, working with Indigenous communities, and a deep understanding of legislative frameworks. This position offers a salary range of $99,900 to $146,500 based on location and qualifications, along with opportunities for personal growth and a flexible work environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a professional or research license in Ontario.
  • 15+ years of experience in leading complex archaeological field programs.
  • Ability to provide quality control of client deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee archaeological assessments aligned with the Ontario Heritage Act.
  • Build relationships with Indigenous Nations and community partners.
  • Provide expert guidance on archaeological processes, permitting, and risk management.
  • Lead business development and technical approaches in proposals.

Skills

Professional or research license to conduct archaeological fieldwork
15+ years of archaeological experience
Strong understanding of project financial management
Expert understanding of provincial and federal legislative frameworks
Ability to direct technical and safety training

Education

Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or related discipline
