Job summary

Magna International Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst, Finance & Controlling in Canada to oversee IT financial controlling across regions, lead monthly/quarterly/year-end close, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

You will provide management reports and business analysis to support pricing decisions and strategic planning. The role requires a strong background in finance, ERP (SAP), advanced Excel/PowerPoint, and experience with data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, controlling, or accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
• Experience with month-end, year-end close and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the controlling processes for assigned IT functional and regional areas, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, business planning, project accounting, and capex tracking.
• Monitor and analyze financial metrics and KPIs to identify risks and trends.
• Partner with the Magna IT team to provide management reporting, business analysis for decision‑making, and pricing support for services.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining internal controls.
• Support annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation for assigned areas, aligning with goals and strategic planning.
• Assist in preparing business cases for new initiatives or renewals.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Senior Analyst, Finance & Controlling

Salary: Starting at $88,000 CAD. Immediate.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the controlling processes for assigned IT functional and regional areas, including monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reporting, business planning, project accounting, and capital expenditure tracking.
• Monitor and analyze financial metrics and key performance indicators to identify financial risks and trends.
• Partner with the Magna IT operational team to provide management reporting, business analysis for decision‑making, and support for pricing of services.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and presentations for various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting policies & principles and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Support the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecast for the assigned business areas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic planning.
• Assist in preparing business cases for new initiatives or renewals.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, controlling, or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, data warehouse).
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Minimum four years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, with thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices & procedures.
• Experience overseeing or managing company financial summaries such as month‑end, year‑end, and operation reviews, year‑end auditing processes, general accounting, developing business plans, and analyzing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accounting designation is preferred.
• Experience working with remote teams is considered an asset.
