Job summary

Altis Technology in Downtown Toronto is seeking a Financial Analyst to join a lean finance team. You will own complex accounting, reporting and analysis, interpreting contracts, and supporting month-end close.

The role offers a 1-year contract with potential for permanent conversion. You will collaborate with leadership across the organization, gain exposure to financial reporting, controls and process improvement, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting, financial reporting or financial analysis experience.
• CPA designation strongly preferred or progress toward CPA.
• Strong knowledge of GL analysis, month-end close and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial functions).
• ERP experience required; SAP is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and agreements, interpret financial terms, and translate requirements into accurate reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial reporting, including GL activity, intercompany transactions and variance analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end close through journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
• Independently investigate accounting issues, assess impacts and propose solutions.
• Provide accounting guidance to team members and act as finance resource for internal stakeholders.
• Support audits, internal controls and master data governance, including vendor/customer setup.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, improve efficiency, manage risk and generate cost savings.

Your Responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting or senior financial analysis experience.
• CPA designation strongly preferred, or significant progress toward completing your CPA designation.
• Strong accounting knowledge, including GL analysis, month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, IF statements, lookups and financial functions.
• Experience with an ERP system is required, with SAP considered an asset.
• Strong critical thinking and research skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies and develop solutions independently.
• Excellent attention to detail, stakeholder communication skills and a demonstrated track record of process improvement.
