Job summary

OMERS Ventures is seeking a Senior Analyst, Compliance Operations to support policy program management, ensure policies are current and aligned with regulatory requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

The role involves coordinating policy reviews, maintaining documentation, supporting compliance monitoring, and driving improvements to policy and process through cross-functional partnership.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma.
  • 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in compliance or a similar function, including regulatory compliance and policy program management.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to create and execute processes relevant to the role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex requirements to a range of audiences through various channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities proactively and identify areas requiring further research.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive and administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with intermediate proficiency in Excel and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate timely policy reviews and engage stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose documents.
  • Provide policy SME expertise and promote best practices within the OMERS policy framework.
  • Manage version control and track changes during policy reviews.
  • Maintain and update policy documents, coordinating amendments with SMEs.
  • Collaborate across the organization to advance strategic objectives and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and test compliance activities to generate insights and guidance.
  • Create and enhance compliance process documentation and planning templates.
  • Review practices and identify design improvements to support new projects.
  • Keep knowledge of processes and regulatory/tech requirements up to date.
  • Review emerging industry trends and analyze data to support policy recommendations.

Senior Analyst, Compliance Operations

This role reports to theAssociat e Director, ComplianceOperationsand supports the management and administration of the OMERS policy program. This position is important because it helps ensure policies remain current, fit for purpose, and aligned with organizationalobjectivesand applicable regulatory requirements. In this role, you will coordinate policy reviews, maintaine accuratedocumentation, support compliance monitoring, and work with stakeholders across the organization to improve policy and compliance processes.

You will be responsible for:
  • Supportingthe management and administration of the policy program by coordinatingtimely reviews and engaging relevant stakeholders to deliver policy documents that are fit for purpose.

  • Providingpolicy subject matterexpertise, promotingbest practices and consistency with the OMERS policy framework, and respond ingto policy-related inquiries.

  • Managingversion control, trackingchanges throughout policy reviews, and keepining stakeholders informed of updates to support consistency and transparency across the organization.

  • Maintainingand updatingpolicy documents to ensure accuracy and relevance, including coordinating amendments with subject matterexpertsand supportingtimelypublication on internal and external websites.

  • Collaboratingwith colleagues across the organization to advance strategicobjectives, gather feedback, and resolve issues for internal stakeholders.

  • Participatingin the monitoring and testing of compliance activities to generate insights andprovide meaningful policy guidance.

  • Creatingand enhancingcompliance management process documentation, including compliance procedures and project planning templates.

  • Reviewingcurrent practices andidentifying design and process improvements to support the implementation of new compliance projects and processes.

  • Maintainingcurrent knowledge of organizational processes and relevant regulatory and technology requirements.

  • Reviewingemerging industry and regulatory trends and conduct ingqualitative and quantitative analysis to support policy and process recommendations aligned with OMERS strategy and stakeholder needs.

Required Skills & Experience
  • University degree or college diploma.

  • Project management experience, including experience using Asana.

  • Initiative-taker who is comfortable working both collaboratively and independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan logically and strategically and monitor progress using effective controls and success criteria.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.The expected salary range for this position is $72,000.00 - $108,000.00 per year.
