Job summary

Exchange Solutions is seeking a Team Lead who will be the senior hands-on engineer on your team, owning delivery across a product area and setting technical standards. You will be accountable for code quality, production readiness, and the growth of engineers around you.

You are expected to be among the strongest AI-enabled engineers, applying code assistants and AI tooling to real work while mentoring others and leading incidents as part of a collaborative, client-focused engineering practice.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in CS/CE or equivalent.
• 5+ years building and operating production software.
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js; Java as a second language.
• Experience designing cloud-native systems on AWS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB; Snowflake for analytics.
• Refactoring legacy modules under pressure with no regressions.
• Git workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Observability practices and incident follow-up.
• Practical use of AI coding tools in production.
• Ability to explain technical positions to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Write production code and own delivery in your area.
• Design work with developers and Architecture team and justify tradeoffs.
• Break tasks into AI-sized units for quick verification.
• Own code review criteria and delegate when appropriate.
• Make and communicate commitments; flag risks early.
• Keep area releasable with tests, gates, pipelines.
• Reduce complexity and drive improvements.
• Lead incidents and drive follow-ups.
• Use AI as a default tool and teach others.
• Manage AI spend within budget.
• Minimize work in progress and surface blockers.
• Run technical screens and evaluate candidates.
• Answer questions from Product, Solutions Architecture, QA, IT Operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and provide feedback.
• Engage in talent processes and career development.
• Contribute to operations and culture.
