Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the QEnovation Squad and evolve orQEstra, focusing on AI-assisted testing and agentic workflows. You will help design, develop, and integrate AI capabilities into engineering processes while shaping the future of quality engineering across the enterprise.

The role combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on AI experience, contributing technical leadership, and collaborating across platform teams in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/SE/IT.
• 5+ years designing, developing, and supporting software in Agile.
• Experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, and AI-enabled software.
• Experience building tooling with LLMs (IDE extensions, MCP, tool APIs).
• Strong Python skills; also Java/JS/TS/C# experience.
• Experience designing APIs, services, integrations, and automation.
• Familiar with Playwright, REST, PyTest, JUnit, Jest or xUnit.
• Git-based workflows, SQL/PostgreSQL, cloud platforms (AWS).
• Docker, container-based development, and observability basics.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain agentic QE orchestration tooling.
• Build AI-enabled capabilities to raise engineering productivity and quality.
• Design agentic workflows with augmented testing and automation.
• Develop integrations between AI agents, tools, tests, and platform services.
• Contribute to AI-assisted testing capabilities and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive platform improvements.
• Develop APIs, services and applications using modern software practices.
• Participate in design discussions and promote best practices.
• Support experimentation and PoC activities with emerging tech.
• Apply Agile practices and facilitates knowledge sharing.
