Job summary

Oktana is seeking a seasoned Jira Owner/Administrator to define and drive ORD tool strategy across Jira, Confluence, and AI integrations. You will bridge product and engineering leadership, implement best practices, and streamline workflows for a 1,000+ person engineering organization.

You will optimize the toolchain, automate reporting, and reduce manual overhead while partnering with developers, scrum masters, and product leads to deliver efficient, auditable processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, or related field.
• Hands-on Atlassian Administration in large-scale environments (500+ users).
• Proficiency with Jira Query Language (JQL) and SQL.
• Experience integrating AI tools (Claude, Gemini, Rovo, Copilot) into workflows.
• Strong understanding of agile/lean, SAFe/Portfolio planning.

Responsibilities

• Own platform strategy and tooling direction for Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence, AI integrations.
• Manage full toolchain architecture, workflows, permissions, and automation.
• Design scalable, self-service models for growing user bases and complexity.
• Lead evaluation and rollout of AI-powered tooling to automate triage and planning.
• Align PDLC/SDLC with release cadences and change control policies.
• Standardize Jira workflows for feature development and Run-the-Business work.
• Migrate teams to a single source of truth in Jira, eliminating fragmented tracking.
• Ensure data integrity for executive reporting and investment decisions.
• Oversee metrics tools (e.g., Faros.ai) for real-time engineering productivity data.
• Participate in Jira Change Control Board to assess risk of config changes.
• Create enablement materials and train users; provide ongoing administration.
• Collaborate with developers, scrum masters, managers, and product leads.
