Job summary

Alcoa is seeking a Senior AI & Data Scientist to join our global Enterprise AI & Insight Team within ITAS, reporting to the AI Technical Lead. This role applies advanced AI and data science techniques to solve complex business challenges across Alcoa's Operations and Enterprise functions while helping shape the future of AI capability across the organization.

As a senior hands-on practitioner, you will work across the full AI solution lifecycle, from data exploration and experimentation through

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering end-to-end AI and data science solutions that generate measurable business outcomes.
• Deep expertise in statistical modelling, ML, experimental design and model validation.
• Experience developing and evaluating generative AI solutions, including RAG and agentic AI.
• Strong programming and analytical skills for complex data and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of AI solutions across Operations and Enterprise functions.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable AI and analytics solutions.
• Develop, validate and deploy statistical, ML and generative AI models, including RAG and agentic use cases.
• Apply rigorous experimentation and data analysis to drive informed decisions.
• Lead a small team of data scientists with mentorship and quality oversight.
• Partner with stakeholders, AI Engineers and Data Engineers to deliver trusted AI solutions.
