Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton LLP is seeking an AI Data Lead to ensure data is operationally ready for modern AI applications. You will bridge data architecture, data engineering, and applied AI, partnering with software engineering teams and governance groups to provide trusted, current organizational knowledge while meeting privacy and performance needs.

You will lead data architecture design, ETL pipelines, and AI-ready data foundations, collaborating across governance, privacy, and transformation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related STEM.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Analytics Engineering, or Cloud Data Platforms.
• Demonstrated experience designing modern data architectures and enterprise data integration pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of AI data architecture with standard practices.
• Build an AI-ready data foundation for trusted access to enterprise information.
• Establish architecture for AI data access across sources (data warehouses/lakehouses, repositories, CRM/ERP).
• Identify gaps affecting AI performance and ensure data currency and governance.
• Develop ETL pipelines to prepare data for AI-ready formats.
• Document data sources, schemas and transformation logic for reproducibility.
• Collaborate with Data Governance to enhance data catalog and quality.
• Coordinate with Data Privacy to ensure compliance and retention policies.
• Partner with Business Transformation to prioritize high-value use cases.
• Drive innovations via proofs of concept and pilot programs.
