Placements24 is seeking a Senior Agronomist in Kimberley to lead crop nutrition programs, soil and plant tissue analysis, and nutrient management strategies for farmers in the Northern Cape.

You will design and implement advanced fertilization plans, interpret analytical results, stay abreast of research, and collaborate with sales and technical teams to deliver practical solutions and sustained yield improvements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Nutrition, or related agricultural science.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in agronomy with focus on crop nutrition and soil fertility.
• In-depth knowledge of plant physiology, nutrient uptake, and fertilizer science.
• Experience with soil and plant analysis techniques and interpretation of results.
• Proficiency in farm management software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed soil and plant tissue analysis to assess nutrient status and identify deficiencies or toxicities.
• Develop and recommend customized crop nutrition programs based on soil type, crop needs, and environmental conditions.
• Provide technical advice and support to farmers on fertilizer application, timing, and methods.
• Stay updated on the latest research and technologies in plant nutrition and soil fertility management.
