Job summary

Modern Technical Staffing Inc. in Markham, ON, seeks a Senior Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist to own day-to-day procurement and logistics across engineering, test, manufacturing, and launch programs.

You will source suppliers, quote, issue POs, manage deliveries, and ensure materials are where they need to be at each development stage. The role requires hands-on buying of engineered components and raw materials, with AS9100/ISO9001 knowledge and strong vendor management.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics in aerospace/defense or complex hardware environments.
• Hands-on experience buying engineered components, raw materials, and technical services.
• Proven track record negotiating with suppliers and recovering late deliveries; comfortable escalating.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and incoming inspection practices.
• Strong organizational and communication skills across engineering, quality, finance, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage full procurement lifecycle: sourcing, quoting, PO issuance, delivery tracking, and receipt.
• Stay ahead of material needs tied to design releases, build schedules, and test timelines.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms; reserve manufacturing slots with key suppliers.
• Escalate and recover late deliveries; resolve supplier issues across quality, payment, and logistics.
• Maintain backup suppliers for critical materials and components.
• Coordinate transport, handling, and storage of flight hardware, test articles, propulsion components, and hazardous materials.
• Support remote/off-site test and launch logistics.
• Oversee receiving, inspection, warehousing, kitting, and inventory accuracy.
• Forecast material requirements and identify long-lead items to prevent schedule impacts.
• Support first article inspections and component qualification.
