Job description

About the Role:

The Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist owns the day-to-day procurement and logistics execution that keeps our engineering, test, manufacturing, and launch programs moving. You will source and quote, run purchase orders from requisition through receipt, hold suppliers to their delivery commitments, and make sure hardware, equipment, and materials are where they need to be at every stage of development and operations. When a supplier slips, you own the recovery. This role is for someone who is tenacious with vendors, comfortable escalating past their day-to-day contact, and not satisfied until the problem is closed out and the part is on the dock.

Reports to: VP of Operations:
  • Works closely with: Engineering Leads, AIT Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, Launch Program Director, Finance, and external suppliers and logistics providers.
  • Accountability: Procurement execution, supplier delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and logistics operations supporting all our programs.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Run the full procurement cycle for materials, components, tooling, equipment, and external services: requisition, sourcing, quoting, PO issuance, delivery tracking, and receipt verification
  • Work with Engineering Leads and the AIT Engineer to stay ahead of procurement needs driven by design releases, build schedules, and test campaign timelines. Maintain procurement schedules tied to program milestones and flag lead time risks early enough to do something about them.
  • Source and quote vendors for flight-critical and development hardware, balancing cost, quality, and lead time, and surface sole-source exposure to the VP of Operations.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers. Reserve manufacturing slots with key vendors ahead of upcoming builds and actively follow up on every delivery commitment.
  • Own delivery recovery. When a supplier misses a date, chase it down: call the plant, elevate past your contact, get a revised commitment in writing, and keep the program informed until the hardware arrives.
  • Troubleshoot supplier issues across quality, payment, and delivery, drive them to resolution, and elevate when the answer isn't good enough.
  • Maintain a roster of qualified backup suppliers for critical materials and components so that a single supply constraint cannot stop a build.
  • Support Engineering Leads in qualifying supplier-furnished components through first article inspections, material testing, and fit/form/function verification.
  • Coordinate the transport, handling, and storage of flight hardware, test articles, propulsion components, and hazardous materials in compliance with aerospace handling standards and applicable transport regulations.
  • Execute logistics for test campaigns and launch operations at remote or off-site locations, including equipment mobilization, consumables provisioning and coordination with site support providers.
  • Maintain inventory management and material tracking systems for development hardware, spares, raw materials consumables, tooling, and GSE across all our facilities and operational sites.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Launch Operations to forecast material and logistics requirements, identify long-lead items, and prevent shortages that could impact program schedules.
  • Manage receiving, inspection, warehousing, and kitting, ensuring materials are stored propery, traceable, and issued to production and integration activities in a controlled manner.
Qualifications
  • 4–6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or logistics within aerospace, defence, advanced manufacturing, automotive, or a comparably complex hardware development environment.
  • Hands‑on experience buying engineered components, raw materials, and technical services for hardware development or production programs. Familiarity with aerospace material specifications and certifications is an asset.
  • A demonstrated track record of negotiating with suppliers and recovering late deliveries. Comfortable escalating.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100, ISO 9001) and incoming inspection practices in a controlled manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to run many concurrent purchase orders and logistics activities across different programs and timelines without losing track of any of them.
  • An effective communicator across functions (engineering, quality, finance, operations) who can hold vendors accountable while keeping the relationship intact.
  • A tenacious, analytical problem‑solver who spots supply risk early and drives practical solutions under schedule pressure.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada and eligible for registration under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
