Job summary

Desjardins is seeking a senior credit risk advisor specializing in rental property and construction credit risk. The role focuses on credit authorization, research, analysis, and development activities to implement best practices in risk oversight.

You will work on short-term financing files for residential and commercial rental properties and seniors’ residences and may approve colleagues’ files. You will also coach teammates, help manage workflow volumes, and act as an expert for the Credit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Six years of relevant experience.
• Experience financing residential or commercial rental properties, seniors’ residences, construction or large real estate projects.
• Experience coaching colleagues.
• Knowledge of French is required.

Responsibilities

• Approve credit files with loan commitments from $10 to $50 million.
• Provide the second signature for credit advisors.
• Participate in coaching activities with colleagues or other Desjardins Business centre collaborators.
• Help managers and team leaders manage and coordinate workflow volumes.
• Act as an expert for the business line or the Credit Risk Oversight and Governance Department.

As a senior credit risk advisor for rental property and construction credit risk, you’ll contribute to credit authorization, research, analysis and development activities. You’ll help recommend directions and strategies aimed at implementing industry best practices for credit risk management oversight. You’ll mainly work on short-term financing files, including construction short-term (bridge) and long-term loans for residential and commercial rental properties and seniors’ residences. You may also be called upon to approve some of your colleagues’ files and participate in training and/or coaching activities. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Approve credit files with loan commitments from $10 to $50 million (Group of Common Risk Entities)
• Provide the second signature for credit advisors
• Participate in coaching activities with colleagues or other Desjardins Business centre collaborators
• Help managers and team leaders manage and coordinate workflow volumes
• Act as an expert for the business line or the Credit Risk Oversight and Governance Department upon request

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience
• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
• Experience in financing for residential or commercial rental properties, seniors’ residences, construction companies, large-scale real estate construction projects (financing up to $30 million) or subdivision projects
• Relevant experience coaching colleagues
• Knowledge of French is required
