Job summary

Coalition is seeking a seasoned actuary with deep reinsurance pricing expertise to lead our pricing lifecycle and drive portfolio profitability.

You will design and price complex treaties, develop models, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership, underwriting, and external partners, while mentoring the actuarial team and collaborating with data science, engineering and security experts. This remote-first role offers exposure to cyber risk across Canada.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Insurance pricing, with at least 4+ years in Reinsurance.
• ACAS or FCAS certification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives.
• Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or related field.
• Strong understanding of actuarial pricing & the various reinsurance treaties structure.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems in a structured, data-driven way.
• Long-term strategic and operational thinking with balanced delivery.
• Ability to influence partners and build strong relationships.
• Ability to develop and monitor business metrics to optimize pricing proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end pricing of complex reinsurance treaties, including assumption development, cash flow projection, and risk/return optimization.
• Develop, oversee, and enhance actuarial models and governance.
• Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for internal and external audiences.
• Support pricing risk governance controls as SME.
• Collaborate with data science, engineering and security experts on data-driven solutions.
• Act as an ambassador for the actuarial team and stakeholder needs.
