Job summary

Munich Re Canada seeks an experienced Actuary to analyze treaty reinsurance profitability and partner with underwriting and client management to ensure competitive pricing. The role reports to the Head of Pricing, Treaty Underwriting for Munich Reinsurance of Canada.

You will lead pricing, drive advanced analytics, and mentor junior analysts in a hybrid work environment at the Toronto office. A FCAS designation and 5+ years in P&C actuarial pricing are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or equivalent.
• FCAS designation is required for Actuary title. Near FCAS or ACAS considered at Senior level with pricing experience.
• 5+ years of P&C actuarial work experience; pricing experience required; reinsurance pricing preferred.
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access; programming/modeled experience seen as asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead treaty reinsurance pricing independently by identifying key cost drivers and overseeing timelines for renewals.
• Assess pricing adequacy across varying contract terms and respond to regulatory changes.
• Drive portfolio analytics to identify trends and support strategic decisions.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models and pricing assumptions; provide guidance to juniors.
• Lead projects and manage stakeholder expectations; support facultative and primary pricing.Provide CAT modelling support using industry and in-house software.
• Attend seminars/workshops as needed and contribute to continuous improvement.
