Job summary

Cover Genius, the global embedded protection platform, is seeking an Actuary for its Americas Team to drive pricing, segmentation, and portfolio management. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external underwriters to optimize product performance and profitability.

The role requires a degree in actuarial science or related field, FC/ACAS preferred, 5+ years experience, and strong SQL/Excel with R/Python desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
• Associate or Fellow Qualified actuary.
• 5+ years actuarial experience in the property & casualty/non-life insurance industry.
• Strong SQL and Excel skills. Programming skills in R and/or Python desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to interpret data for varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Utilize actuarial pricing methodology to produce pricing, risk management and product recommendations.
• Contribute to development and implementation of new products through pricing and underwriting guidelines.
• Support insurance partnerships teams with reviews of rate development, loss ratio monitoring and product development stages.
• Work closely with Data, Platform, and Data Science teams to design and develop insurance products.
• Provide insights to internal and external stakeholders to support partners, carriers and reinsurer relationships.
• Demonstrate a positive and proactive approach with stakeholders and address concerns.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes to address inefficiencies and risks.
• Develop skills in data and modelling software to contribute to pricing, modelling and dashboards.
• Build and own dashboards for market segments to monitor loss ratio.
