Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring an Active Living Aide in Toronto to assist with planning and implementing meaningful activities for residents under the Active Living Manager. You will help with daily activities, coordinate outings, and support meal services as needed.

The role requires a college diploma related to recreation or gerontology, experience with seniors, and strong communication skills. A driver’s license is preferred for resident transport.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
• Valid provincial driver’s license to transport residents by van.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for residents.
• Maintain department records including assessments and participation evaluations.
• Communicate with residents, families, volunteers and staff about events.
• Attend in-service education to stay informed on elderly care trends.
• Participate in team meetings to plan resident activities.
