Job summary

Space Ops is hiring a Senior Accounting Specialist to oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities and maintain accurate financial records. The role requires detail orientation, hands-on bookkeeping, and advanced Excel skills to manage high-volume daily transactions.

You will support month-end and year-end closes, intercompany reconciliations, and internal reporting while ensuring adherence to internal controls and policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Professional accounting designation or progress toward one is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience supporting multiple legal entities.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple entities, ensuring proper segregation, consistency, and integrity while processing high volume daily transactions.
• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and review intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes across all entities.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
• Assist with financial reporting and internal management reports.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as required.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
