Job summary

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is seeking a Senior Accounting Advisor to provide expert advice on financial reporting and assurance matters, supporting the Chief Accountant and cooperating with internal divisions and external regulators.

You will analyze complex issues arising from reviews of financial statements under the Ontario Securities Act, comment on proposed standards, and engage with issuers, auditors, CPAB and other regulators.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS and CAS with ability to apply professional judgment to complex matters.
• Experience in financial reporting for issuers or public accounting firms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve complex financial reporting issues arising under the Ontario Securities Act.
• Provide advisory guidance on accounting matters to OSC staff and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to comments on proposed accounting and ethics standards and participate in special projects.
