Ontario Securities Commission seeks candidates for a regular, full-time rotation program in Toronto. The program combines a 24-month Work Experience Rotation Period and a 36-month Multi-Group Assignment Period, designed to build CPA-related experience through diverse divisions including Registration, Inspections, Corporate Finance, Internal Audit and Enforcement.
Upon completion, a permanent position may follow.
The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, to foster capital formation, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk. This mandate is performed through policy, operational, and enforcement activities. The OSC also contributes to national and global securities regulation development. The OSC offers a rotational program that consists of two components. First is the Work Experience Rotation Period that will follow a structured work plan that has been approved by CPA Ontario. This component is 24 months (net of absences) and allows candidates to obtain necessary foundational and professional work experience requirements needed for the CPA designation. Next, the Multi-Group Assignment Period component of our program provides participants the opportunity to gain valuable, diverse experience in various Divisions of Canada’s largest securities market regulator, subsequent to completing the CPA designation requirements.
